About

Our Space

The HIVE Autonomous Innovation Center (AIC) is the ultimate “collision space” for the 805’s tech and aerospace community. Our coworking and event space at the Camarillo Airport serves as a premier community hub, hosting everything from the high-impact “Take Flight Fridays” networking series to specialized industry workshops and defense-sector meetups

Market Opportunity

The Advanced Air Mobility market is currently estimated at $1.2 trillion globally and is projected to grow at 28% annually through 2030. Major events including the 2026 World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles will serve as catalysts for AAM adoption, with Ventura County airports positioned to serve as critical hubs for electric aircraft routes connecting to these venues. Archer Aviation has already been selected as the Official Air Taxi Provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, demonstrating the immediate commercial viability of this sector.

Defense and Dual-Use Tech

Speed to the Fleet

Accelerates the timeline for getting new technology into the hands of warfighters by bypassing slow traditional acquisition cycles.

Problem Curation

Allows the Navy to present specific, "audacious" problems directly to the private sector. e.g., "How do we charge devices in minutes instead of hours?"

Dual-Use Tech

Identifies commercial technologies that can be slightly modified for defense purposes, saving the military rapidly growing R&D costs.

Autonomous Agricultural Tech

Few regions can match Ventura County’s combination of agricultural scale, research capacity, and innovation infrastructure that positions it as an ideal hub for autonomous AG tech testing. A $2.1 billion agricultural industry spanning nearly 25% of the county’s land area offers innovators an unmatched diversity of real-world testing environments,  from coastal strawberry fields to inland citrus corridors, all within a single region. Ventura County is developing the future of how food is grown.
